Even if they did, you would still need to locate a catch block. I don't believe the throttle governed engines had the slot on the push rod. The detent catch block mounts in that slot. The push rod for the hit and miss has a "slot" milled into it, and If I recall correctly there is also a counterbore as well. I don't have my parts book in front of me as I write this, but I believe the push rod may be different as well. So- there are those holes that need to be dealt with besides the throttle shaft holes. There is the hole that is drilled and tapped for the fuel supply fitting from the cast starting tank, as well as the hole that is drilled and tapped for the needle valve for starting the engine on gasoline before you switch to the needle for the main fuel tank. A throttler carb also has other holes which would require the need to be blocked off. It was his very last happy moment before he passed his wife said. There are more differences than that. I'm honored to have been able to restore it and show it to him. And this old guy was a tough as nails man! His wife was thrilled that we kept our promise and showed it to him all restored. He was soo happy, like a kid again and he actually cried.
I completed it myself over a 2 year span and my brother and I trucked it over to my customers hospice center to let him see and hear it run. Touch device users can explore by touch or with swipe gestures.

Catalogs show this engine available as late as 1937 but the records don’t support the advertising.
While a good engine, it was a stylistic dinosaur.
STOVER HIT MISS ENGINE REBUILDING GENERATOR
I have a reproduction 1930's generator that has an AC alternator in it that goes to a 12 volt battery and a 1700 watt power inverter inside the wood box. They were basically a copy of the old-style Type U engine and were hit-and-miss or throttle governed. I built the custom frame out of angle iron and powder coated it black. An example of how a hit/miss engine can be started after being stopped while. This is a fantastic original water cooled cylinder head for a Stover hit and miss engine.
STOVER HIT MISS ENGINE REBUILDING SERIAL NUMBERS
Information about serial numbers and year Fender guitars, encoder. After 2 years of parts sourcing I got it completed and now it's a generator. Engine number is located on the rear crankcase flange below the generator. We have parts for the 2 & 3HP but 'pickins are slim' for the 1-1/2HP and older style Stovers. Although some of these parts may interchange with some other 'K' models DO NOT use this list for the 1-1/2HP model with the fuel tank bolted on to the carb with four screws. This is my 1936 Stover Hit-N-Miss engine that I bought from a customer of mine. These engines were open crankcase, hit & miss or throttle governed, Wico 'EK' magneto, and had solid flywheels with five round holes.
